October 08: Flea Market
Where: JJ Market, Chiang Mai.

October 18: Advanced Painting Group
Where: Sangdee Gallery & Café
When: all day
Get out of a creative rut by discussing artists, movements, techniques and compositions with likeminded painters whilst producing unique works and giving input on each other's endevours. Expanding your painting in scope and in technique, this "class" is more of an informal meeting of painters aimed at getting your creative juices flowing. shawn@sangdee.org

October 20: Sizzling Salsa
Where: Ratwithi and Ratchapakinai Rd intersection
When: 20:00 - midnight
Come learn and dance to Salsa and other dance styles above the Kodak Shop in Chiang Mai Old Cit. Each Thursday is different and fun. More open-floor fashion with some introductions to other dance styles and with equal amounts of fun.

October 23: Chulalongkorn Day
Where: all over Chiang Mai
When: all day
Chulalongkorn Day commemorates the death of Chulalongkorn (Rama V), one of Thailand's monarchs, otherwise known as the boy king depicted in The King and I. Residents cover statues with flower wreaths on this public holiday.

October 30: Chiang Mai Has Talent
Where: Playhouse Entertainment Complex
When: all day
It's time for the bands to compete against each other for a coveted place in December's final. All groups must have a mimimun of three members and must play original music - no covers! Take part or just turn up to enjoy the show!
